B B Tandon yet to see the petition against Chawla

Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Election Commissioner B B Tandon today (Mar 17 2006) said he will examine the petition against Election Commissioner Navin Chawla when it comes before him.

Answering questions on NDA's complaint to President A P J Abdul Kalam on Chawla's 'impartiality' and his alleged links with the Congress, Tandon said "I came to know from media that NDA MPs have submitted a memorandum to President."

"We will examine it when it comes to us," Tandon who was in the state to review the poll preparations for the coming assembly elections, told sources.
