BJP against partymen taking part in Uma's programme Saturday, March 18 2006 20:12 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Lucknow:
The Uttar Pradesh unit of BJP will take disciplinary action against all the partymen taking part in the programmes organised by expelled party leader and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Uma Bharti.
Earlier, Bharti's programmes were aimed at creating public awareness and the party had not initiated any action against those who had taken part in them but now that she has announced her plans to float a party, BJP would take stern action against those who will take part in her programmes, party spokesman Hriday Narain Dixit said here today (Mar 18 2006).
Taking part in the functions or yatras of a leader of another party would invite disciplinary action, Dixit said.
Meanwhile, the BJP has expelled rebel candidate Upendra Shukla who is contesting the Kauriram assembly byelection against the official party nominee.
Dixit said state BJP president Kesari Nath Tripathi has decided to expel Shukla with immediate effect and warned that indisciple would not be tolerated and all those working against party interests would be taken to task.
