Madan Lal Khurana to join Uma's Janadesh rally Sunday, March 19 2006 13:52 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
New Delhi:
Apparently peeved at being denied a Rajya Sabha nomination, senior BJP leader Madan Lal Khurana today(Mar19,2006) voiced his support for expelled leader Uma Bharti's Janadesh rally at the risk of losing party membership.
"I will join Uma Bharti' s Janadesh rally in Delhi on Tuesday as I would like to raise voice for the people of Delhi from that platform even if I face the risk of being expelled," Khuranasources .
He said he would make a final decision on joining Bharti's proposed new party, which she intends to launch as a parallel to the BJP, later.
His comments came in the wake of the BJP denying him an RS nomination which, he claims, was promised to him by senior party leader M Venkaiah Naidu.
Khurana accused the BJP of denying him key organisational responsibilities which, he said, he deserved being a veteran.
He also alleged the party had denied him support for his campaign against court-ordered demolitions in the capital.
Khurana, who was briefly suspended from BJP last year for his outbursts against the then party chief L K Advani, on Thursday said he committed the 'biggest mistake' of his life when he resigned as Delhi Chief Minister in 1996 on Advani's advice.
