Pondicherry:
The Pondicherry unit of CPI(ML) will contest in four constituencies in the coming elections to the 30-member assembly on its own.
The party would field candidates in Ariankuppam, Oulgaret (both in Pondicherry) and in Cottuchery and Neducadu (Reserved) constituencies in Karaikal region, party secretary S Balasubramanian told sources here today (Mar 21 2006).
Coming down on the Congress Government for "pampering" the affluent in the last five years, he called upon the two Communist parties (CPI and CPI-M) to pull out of the DMK-led Democratic Progressive Alliance so that a left front could be formed.
