Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has provided a bullet-proof car to Leader of Opposition in the state assembly Lalji Tandon who apprehended a threat to his life.

The bullet-proof vehicle was allotted to the senior BJP leader as he had earlier demanded additional security from the government apprehending a threat to his life, officials said here today (Mar 21 2006).

On being contacted, Tandon said he had demanded such a vehicle after his car was attacked in a busy locality in the state capital last year.
