Wednesday, March 22 2006 13:05 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Mumbai: Former office bearers of BCCI today(Mar 22,2006) moved the Bombay High Court urging for anticipatory bail in a case registered against them and former Cricket Board President Jagmohan Dalmiya for alleged mis-appropriation of funds to the tune of Rs 21.74 lakh pertaining to 1996 World Cup accounts.

Former BCCI Secretary S K Nair and former BCCI treasurer Kishore Rungta and Jyoti Bajpai filed petition in High Court saying they apprehended arrest in this case.

According to FIR lodged by Cricket Board with Marine Drive police station, all three of them had not placed accounts before BCCI Working Committee.

They have been charged with conniving with Dalmiya to siphon-off funds.

Lawyers Sayaji Nangre and Satish Maneshinde mentioned the matter before Justice V M Kanade who decided to hear the petition in the post-lunch session.

The Court had yesterday granted interim protection from arrest to Dalmiya who also urged for anticipatory bail.

The court will hear Dalmiya's plea on March 23.
