Pondicherry: Three hundred workers of the Pondicherry unit of the New Justice Party's youth wing today (Mar 22 2006) joined the ruling Congress party in the presence of Pondicherry PCC leader P Shanmugham at the Congress office here today.

Pon Sampath, the party youth wing president, told sources that the youth wing in NCP had been dissolved and all the members were with the Congress.

Necessary information had been sent to the NJP founder, A C Shanmugham, he said.

Asked if he would contest the coming assembly elections on a Congress ticket, Sampath replied in the negative.
