CCEA extends DEPB incentive for exporters by 1 yr
Thursday, March 23 2006 15:56 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: The Government today(Mar 23,2006) extended the popular export incentive Duty Entitlement Passbook (DEPB) scheme by one more year.

This was decided by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) here pending finalisation of a new scheme to replace DEPB, official sources said.

The government has already extended the scheme twice, making it valid till March 31 this year. The scheme was decided to be scrapped as it was not WTO compatible and a new scheme was to be put in place to provide incentives to exporters.
