Naxals attack police station, OSAP camp in Orissa

Parlakhemundi (Orissa): Naxalites attacked a police station and adjoining Orissa State Armed Police camp at R Udayagiri in Gajapati district of the state in the wee hours today(Mar 24,2006).

In the exchange of fire between the naxals and the police personnel, a few casualties were reported among the policemen, Superintendent of Police, Gajapati, A N Sinha, said.

Senior police officials have rushed to the spot with reinforcements, he said.

The naxalites also attacked the local jail, he added.
