New Delhi:
Arms dealer, Abishek Verma, who has been in the eye of a storm on allegations of payoffs in the multi-billion Scorpene submarine deal, today (Mar 24, 2006) threatened to file defamation suits against BJP leader L K Advani and NDA Convenor George Fernandes for making charges against him on 'fabricated evidence.'
"I have nothing to do with scorpene deal" he told sources here claiming that " Advani, Fernandes and Yeshwant Sinha are trying to target me to make scorpene deal an election issue."
"I intend to sue these leaders as they are making irresponsible and defamatory statements based on fabricated documents," Verma said. He said he had already filed a suit against a Magazine for carrying charges against him based on 'forged documents.'
He said competitive arms leaders, who in the present dispensation had lost contracts, were now trying to defame other companies by forging evidence to allege payoffs in arms deals.
