Children in Goa trapped in Paedophilia racket: NGO Sunday, March 26 2006 12:47 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Panaji:
Besides children of low-income group migrated population, the vulnerability of Goan children trapped in Paedophilia racket is increasing, feels NGOs.
"Today we are realising that we all need to protect our children as paedophilia is not only affecting migrant children but can trap local child too," stated Vipula Kadri, founder and director, Save The Children In India (SCI), a non government organisation (NGO).
SCI's sister organisation, women's institute for social education (WISE), a leading NGO in rehabilitating vulnerable women and children, has spread their operations in Goa.
"We need to work in interior places much more. There is no figure on exact paedophiles visiting Goa but it is for sure that their number is considerable," stated Kadri adding, "WISE will take up the survey of such paedophiles in the state."
