Bajarang Dal's Mangalore unit threatens agitation
Monday, March 27 2006 17:11 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Mangalore (Karnataka): Bajarang Dal's Mangalore district unit has threatened to launch an agitation in case the district administration fails to take measures to stop 'illegal' slaughter houses functioning under Mangalore city corporation (MCC) limits.

There are around seven abattoirs functioning 'illegally' under Mangalore city corporation limits and despite several memoranda to district administration, no action has been taken, Rajagopala Rai, Bajrang Dal's District convener told sources here today (Mar 27, 2006).

If the district administration fails to take any measures to stop these illegal abattoirs within a week, Bajrang Dal will launch an agitation, he said, adding a dharna has been organised in front of MCC on Mar 29, to draw its attention to the issue.
