Tamil Nadu C M Jayalalithaa contests from Andipatti
Monday, March 27 2006 14:38 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa would seek re-election from Andipatti in Theni district in the May 8 assembly polls.

The Chief Minister's name figured in the candidates' list released by AIADMK today (Mar 27, 2006).

Jayalalithaa, whose nomination was rejected from Andipatti besides three other constituencies for the 2001 assembly polls, contested a bye-election and won the seat in 2002 after the Supreme Court declared her appointment as Chief Minister unconstitutional.
