K'taka Govt awaiting consent to start circuit benches
Monday, March 27 2006 17:03 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Bangalore: The Government awaited High Court clearance to start circuit benches in Hubli-Dharwad, Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa informed the Karnataka Legislative Assembly today (Mar 27, 2006).

The Government had earmarked Rs 20 crore allocation in the 2006-07 budget, he said, replying to the issue of delay in setting up circuit benches raised during zero hour by opposition Congress leader N Dharam Singh.

The Government was ready to provide more funds if the need arose, he said while dismissing Singh's charge that no allocation had been made in the budget.

Yediyurappa appealed to the striking advocates, who have launched indefinite fast (demanding circuit benches) since yesterday, to call off the stir.
