Panchayati Raj Instn. express solidarity with Sonia

Sonepat: Over 70,000 elected members of Panchayati Raj institutions in Haryana passed a unanimous resolution expressing solidarity with Congress President Sonia Gandhi for quitting her Lok Sabha seat in the wake of the office of profit controversy.

The resolution was passed yesterday at a one-day state level Panchayati Raj Sammelan held at Rai, 13 km from here, where the representatives endorsed the stand taken by Gandhi to uphold morality in public life and expressed their faith in her policies.

The resolution was moved by Chariman of the Panchayat Samiti Charkhi Dadri Pritam Singh and passed by a voice vote.

Union Rural Development Minister Raghuvansh Prasad Singh, state Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and a large number of MLAs, ministers and bureaucrats were present on the occasion.
