Lucknow: A grand reception awaits Congress President Sonia Gandhi when she arrives in Rae Bareli tomorrow (Mar 27, 2006), her first visit after resigning from the Lok Sabha seat in the wake of the office-of-profit controversy.

Gandhi would be addressing a public meeting at the Government Inter College ground there in the afternoon besides holding mass contact with the people of the constituency from where she has already announced her decision to seek re-election, Congress spokesman Akhilesh Pratap Singh said here.

After arriving at the Amausi airport here, she will proceed to Rae Bareli alongwith state Congress leaders and workers meeting people along the route, Singh said.

Hoardings, banners, welcome arches and party flags have been put up all along the 88-km route from here to make her visit a historic one, he added.
