MP CM dismisses allegations of pressure on police Friday, March 31 2006 14:31 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
New Delhi:
A day after BJP leader Sanjay Joshi was given a clean chit by Madhya Pradesh police in the CD case, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today (Mar 31, 2006) dismissed as 'ridiculous' allegations that his government put pressure on the police in the investigation.
"This is ridiculous. There can be nothing more laughable than this," he told reporters when asked about allegations that the government influenced the investigation in the matter.
Madhya Pradesh police yesterday gave a clean chit to senior BJP leader Sanjay Joshi in the CD controversy, saying the video allegedly showing him in poor light were 'manipulated' and his photographs and the man shown in it did not match during forensic tests.
Refusing to speak on the details in the report submitted in the matter by the investigating officer, Chouhan only said, "The investigating officer has given his report. Apart from this, I have nothing to say."
Madhya Pradesh police received the report of the Central Forensic Science Laboratory, Hyderabad, three days ago, which observed that digital manipulations were carried out in the CD showing discontinuity and jumping.
