Two militants killed in Pulwama by security forces

Srinagar: Two militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir, a defence spokesman said today (Mar 31, 2006).

Acting on a tip off, army and police cordoned the Visinhu-Shopian village, 65 km from here, last night where the militants were hiding, he said.

The militants opened fire on the security team and in the ensuing gun battle both of them were killed, the spokesman said.

Two AK rifles were recovered from the spot.
