Jammu: Ruling coalition partner PDP today (Mar 31, 2006) disrupted Jammu and Kashmir Assembly for nearly half-an-hour in protest against Ghulam Nabi Azad government's alleged failure to table report of investigation in connection with killing of PDP minister G N Lone last year.

As the House assembled this morning, PDP members A R Veeri, Sartaj Madni, Javed Mir, Gaffar Sofi, Syed Mohmd Husain and Shanti Devi stood up front their seats and shouted towards speaker Tara Chand that government has failed to table the investigation report of killing of Lone.

They raised hue and cry over the issue. The opposition NC members particularly Ali Mohmmad Sagar and Mehboob Beig raised points with the speaker that now it is coalition partner PDP that is raising fingers on their own government.

"It is unseen in the history of legislature in Jammu and Kashmir that coalition members are grilling the government. As per their version, Azad government has failed to address the issues of PDP," Sagar said.

After that there was verbal duel between NC and PDP members, while Congress camp was watching as a mute spectator.

There were uproar and noisy scenes in the House for nearly 30 minutes.

The PDP members marched into well urging speaker to direct government to table the lone report. Later speaker motivated them to take seats. They took the seats later.

Similarly, NC legislator Mir Saifullah staged a walkout over unsatisfactory reply of his call attention motion by the state animal husbandary minister, Taj Mohideen over the issue of drought relief in his Kupwara assembly constituency.
