Cong demands CBI probe into Sanjay Joshi CD scandal Saturday, April 1 2006 11:19 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Bhopal:
Accusing Madhya Pradesh police of trying to cover up the CD scandal involving BJP leader Sanjay Joshi by giving him a clean chit, Congress yesterday (Mar 31, 2006) demanded a CBI probe into the episode.
The police had sent a 'fake' CD for forensic tests and were working under political pressure to cover up the scandal, state Congress spokesman Manak Agrawal told reporters here.
"We have been voicing concerns about a possible cover up. The state police and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan were under pressure from BJP and RSS to save Joshi," he alleged adding the state Government should ask the Centre to initiate a CBI probe into the scandal.
State police had given a clean chit to Joshi by saying that the CD was 'manipulated' and his photographs and the man shown in the video did not match.
