Separatist groups must be invited for talks: Yaseen
Tuesday, April 4 2006 16:32 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Budgam (J-K): Observing that a 'meaningful' process was afoot to resolve the Kashmir issue, Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Consumer Affairs Hakim Mohammad Yaseen today (Apr 04, 2006) asked the Centre to involve the hardline faction of Hurriyat Conference and other separatist groups for talks before the second round table conference next month.

"The Central leadership should gear up its quarters for initiating a dialogue with those separatist organisations and leaders who have not yet joined the process to resolve the Kashmir issue before the slated round-table conference so that every shade of opinion is involved in the ongoing talks," Yaseen said addressing a public rally here.

Yaseen, who heads the Peoples' Democratic Forum, a partner in the coalition government in the state, said the recently held round table conference in New Delhi and the Pugwash conference in Islamabad sent clear indications that a meaningful peace process is afoot to resolve the long pending Kashmir issue.

He asked for the release of all those detainees who are languishing in jails for the last several years and said that a uniform rehabilitation scheme should be launched for all the victims of violence without any consideration of political affiliations.
