Chennai: Well-known actor and Director K Bhagyaraj, who was once described by AIADMK founder M G Ramachandran as his 'heir' in the film world, today (Apr 05, 2006) joined the DMK along with his followers.

Bhagyaraj, who was with the AIADMK for some time, had quit and floated his own political outfit. Of late, he had been away from active politics. He actively campaigned for the AIADMK in 1984 and 1989 assembly polls.

He enrolled himself as a member of the DMK in the presence of party President M Karunanidhi at the party headquarters here this morning.
