Large quantity of ammunitions recovered in Poonch

Jammu: Security forces have recovered a large quantity of arms and ammunition in Surankote area of Poonch district, Defence sources said here today (Apr 5, 2006).

During a search operation, the forces recovered a sandbag hidden in a stream at Lohar Mohalla in Surankote tehsil at around 0930 hours yesterday, they said adding it included 32 rounds of AK ammunition, eight anti-personnel mines of Pakistani origin, 10 grenades of Under Barrel Grenade Launchers and some detonators.

Meanwhile, two Pakistani nationals, who were apprehended by army troops at Chakla in Palanwala area of Akhnoor sector on April two, have been handed over to police for further investigations, they said.
