JD (U) MLA alleges 'harassment' threatens to quit Thursday, April 6 2006 16:35 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Patna:
In the first protest against Bihar government from within the NDA, Poonam Devi Yadav, a JD(U) MLA, today (Apr 06, 2006) threatened to resign alleging 'harassment' by the administration as part of a 'conspiracy' by some party leaders to prevent her from getting a ministerial berth.
"Some party leaders are conspiring against me by instigating the administration to implicate me in false criminal cases to prevent me from getting a berth in the Nitish Kumar ministry," the MLA from Khagaria told sources here.
Yadav alleged that as part of the conspiracy, the district magistrate and superintendent of police of Khagaria district had 'misbehaved' with her and implicated her in a 'false' case of entering Khagaria prison to meet her husband on Tuesday.
The JD (U) MLA said she would bring a privilege motion against district magistrate Mayank Barbare and superintendent of police K S Anupam in the Assembly.
She also charged three senior party leaders who had switched sides from the LJP to the JD(U) after the February assembly polls - Narendra Singh, Ramashray Prasad Singh, both currently cabinet ministers and Nagmani, who was recently appointed to Legislative Council, with "enjoying the fruits while genuine leaders like her and her jailed husband Ranbir Yadav were a harrassed lot."
