Madan Khurana attacks Advani on Ram Temple issue Thursday, April 6 2006 20:32 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
New Delhi:
Former Delhi Chief Minister Madan Lal Khurana today (Apr 06, 2006) attacked senior BJP leader L K Advani on the Ram Temple issue saying he did not implement promises when he was Deputy Prime Minister.
"I will first do penance at Ayodhya for the BJP not being able to build a Ram temple despite being in power for six years. Advani, who made tall, promises that a Ram temple would be built in Ayodhya, did not keep them as Deputy Prime Minister," Khurana told sources here.
The former Rajasthan Governor, who is visiting Ayodhya tomorrow before launching his own yatra with Bharti in Delhi on Saturday, was also critical of Advani for his remarks that suggested he was not averse to becoming the Prime Minister.
The former Delhi Chief Minister, who was suspended for supporting Uma Bharti, is scheduled to set out on his own Delhi yatra - which coincides with the Bharat Suraksha tour of Advani and BJP chief Rajnath Singh - to protest court-ordered demolitions and sealings of commercial stores in residential zones of the capital.
He said Bharti too would accompany him on the first two days of his yatra.
