Pondicherry: AICC general secretary V Narayanasamy today (Apr 07, 2006) said the final details of seat sharing talks among DPA constituents in Pondicherry would be available within a couple of days.

Talking to sources here, he said that talks were going on in Delhi among some of the constituents of the front which includes Congress, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Pattali Makkal Katchi and the Left parties.

However, he did not disclose the actual number of seats his party has asked for.

Narayanasamy said he has requested the Chief Election Commissioner, B B Tandon at a meeting in Delhi to deploy additional police force in Mahe region, going to polls in the first phase on May 3, to ensure peaceful conduct of polls in the area.

He said that the Congress would place before the voters "the achievements and successful implementation of various schemes by the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre and the performance of the party's government in Pondicherry during the last five years."
