Washington: The United States yesterday (Apr 14, 2006) condemned the explosions inside Delhi's Jama Masjid and said the incident appears to be the handiwork of terrorists.

"We are aware through media reports that people have been injured," in the attack at Jama Masjid, a senior State Department official told sources. "Our embassy in New Delhi is seeking more information. It appears to be a terrorist attack. We strongly condemn it and send our sympathies to the victims and families," the official added.

"We have no information of anyone claiming responsibility," he added.
