BSP's Mayawati to campaign in Kerala for six days Monday, April 17 2006 16:12 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Bahujan Samaj Party's (BSP), National President Mayawati will be arriving here for a six-day electioneering from April 19 to 24 and would address election meetings at various places from Thiruvananthapuram to Kasargod.
Addressing a press conference here today (Apr 17, 2006), Dr Suresh Mane, BSP's National Secretary and Co-ordinator for Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry, said the party was contesting all the 234 seats in Tamil Nadu, without any alliance with other political parties.
He said in Kerala, BSP has fielded its own candidates in 107 seats out of the total 140 seats, while in Pondicherry the party was contesting in 19 seats.
BSP do not believe in election manifestos and 'false election promises', he said, adding the party believed in actual implementation of the promises.
Among the issues that his party would highlight in its election campaign included implementation of special recruitment and Narendran Commission Report, employment security for tsunami affected people and people below the poverty line, primary health centres in all villages, reservation for dalit Christians and proper utilisation of Central and State funds allotted for the progress of schedule caste and schedule tribes, he said.
