Rae Bareli: Congress President Sonia Gandhi today (Apr 17, 2006) filed nomination papers for the byelection to Rae Bareli Lok Sabha seat.

Gandhi, who resigned from the Rae Bareli seat less than a month ago in the wake of the office of profit row, was accompanied by her children Rahul and Priyanka, and son-in-law Robert Vadra.

Union Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal, Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee chief Salman Khursheed, AICC General Secretary Ashok Gehlot and several party workers accompanied Gandhi to the Collectorate Office here.
