Wrong UPA policies led spread of naxal activities
Monday, April 17 2006 18:31 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Mangalore: The Leader of the Opposition L K Advani today (Apr 17, 2006) charged that the 'wrong' policies being pursued by the UPA government at the Centre has led to spread of naxal activities across the country.

"The UPA government has failed to implement an order issued by the BJP-led NDA government in 1998 which provided for joint command operations against naxal activities," he told sources here before leaving for Kasargod in Kerala for electioneering.

Advani, who has been leading the Bharat Suraksha Yatra, said he was happy with the response received to the yatra.

On the recent attack on Jama Masjid by terrorists, Advani warned that unless the government initiated steps to check terrorism, such incidents would recur.
