Dharam Singh wants CM to lead delegation to PM Tuesday, April 18 2006 17:00 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Bangalore:
Opposition Congress leader in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly N Dharam Singh today (Apr 18, 2006) asked the Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy to lead an all party delegation
to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, seeking his intervention to solve the boundary dispute between the state and Maharastra.
As Maharastra has been making attempts to re-open the border row,the government should view the development seriously and initiate immediate steps to protect the state'sinterest, the former Chief Minister suggested at a press conference here.
He demanded that the Chief Minister convene a meeting of all party leaders at an early date to discuss the issue, which rocked the Maharastra state assembly yesterday.
Singh ridiculed the deadlines being set by Kumaraswamy for expanding his Ministry and remarked rumblings will crop up, once the Ministry is expanded.
He said the JDS-BJP coalition government will not lastlong. Ever since he assumed office on January three,
Kumaraswamy has been setting deadlines for ministry expansion, but has not been able to carry out the exercise.
Twelve ministerial berths are vacant in the Karnataka ministry which has 20 members now.
