Assault case against Kanchi Seer posted to June 16 Wednesday, April 19 2006 15:04 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

A sessions court today (Apr 19, 2006) posted to June 16 the hearing in the 'Radhakrishnan assault case' in which Kanchi Seer Jayendra Saraswathi is the main accused.
The Sankaracharya and seven of the other 10 accused in the case, including mutt manager Sundaresa Iyer and Raghu,younger borther of the Junior Seer Vijayendra Saraswathi, were
present in the court today.
The fifth Additional Sessions Judge T Ramaswamy, before whom the case came up today, was informed that two accused Kadiravan and Appu would present themselves in court later in the day as they were being brought from distant prisons.
As another accused 'Chinna' Kumar, arrested in some other case, could not be brought from jail without a prisoner transit warrant, the prosecution filed a petition for issue of the PT warrant.
The case relates to the 2002 attack on former mutt associate Radhakrishnan, his wife and an attendant at his city residence.
