'King should have an important dialogue with parties'

Kochi: In his first public comments on the developments in Nepal, Prime Minister yesterday (Apr 19, 2006) asked King Gyanendra to have meaningful dialogue with political parties of the Himalayan Kingdom.

Asked at a press conference if the government has plans to send peace-keeping force to the Himalayan nation, the Prime Minister said "we have not reached that stage. It is a step by step process.

The problems can be resolved by various Nepalese groups. He said the problem can be resolved and the King should have meanifgul dialogues with political outfits.

"There should be peace and stability in Nepal and we would like it to be a flourishing democracy and hope all concerned would work to realise this. Former Union minister Dr Karan Singh has been sent to Nepal," he said.
