Former Delhi CM Madan Lal Khurana resigns from BJP
Thursday, April 20 2006 10:43 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: Former Delhi Chief Minister Madan Lal Khurana today (Apr 20, 2006) resigned from BJP, nearly a month after he was suspended from the party for joining expelled party leader Uma Bharti's rally here.

"I have sent my resignation, addressed to the BJP chief (Rajnath Singh), to the party office here," Khurana told sources.

Khurana alleged that "BJP leadership is running the party like a private limited company with no regard whatsoever for mass leaders. I resigned because I have been feeling severely uncomfortable in such an environment."

The copies of the resignation letter have been sent to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, RSS leaders K S Sudarshan and Mohan Bhagawat and VHP leader Ashok Singhal, he said.

On his future political moves, Khurana said he would make a choice between launching a "third front" in Delhi or joining Bharti's proposed party after a month.
