Rae Bareli: Here for overseeing the election campaign for his mother, Rahul Gandhi today (Apr 21, 2006) termed the attacks against Sonia Gandhi as irrelevant and rubbish and said that development would be the plank in the May 8 by election here.

"Our job is to ensure development of the area. We will develop Rae Bareli. It will mark the beginning of the development of the state," he told reporters.

Earlier, Gandhi visited the party's election office at Pandey kothi in the town and had a discussion with senior district leaders.
