No participation in a coalition Government: PMK Friday, April 21 2006 14:22 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Chennai:
PMK today (Apr 21, 2006) said it would not participate in a coalition government if such a situation arose after the May 8 Tamil Nadu assembly polls.
"We have clearly said in our manifesto that we will only give support and not participate in a coalition government. I reiterate it again", PMK Founder Dr S Ramadoss, told sources here.
Asked about reports that PMK might join hands with the AIADMK to form a government after the polls, Ramadoss held the comment to some people's imagination.
He said few months before the May 8 polls were announced, there were reports that PMK would leave the fold of Democratic Progressive Alliance (DPA) and join hands with AIADMK.
"We will not leave DPA and I am even willing to produce a sworn affadavit, " he said.
"Claiming that AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa had been rattled by the fact that her party will lose in the hustings has started blabbering", he said in the beginning of her campaign, she had said efforts will be made for creating five lakh jobs.
"During her campaigning in southern parts of the state, she has said she will make efforts for creating 25 lakh jobs, but now she is saying 32 lakh jobs," he said.
But one should not forget that Jayalalithaa in 2002 brought a government order banning recruitment in government service and later withdrew it.
"Even after withdrawing it, not a single person has been so far recruited," he said.
