China for non-interference in Nepal's internal affairs Saturday, April 22 2006 10:21 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Beijing:
China yesterday (Apr 21, 2006) said it was closely following the tense situation in neighbouring Nepal and urged the international community not to interfere in the internal affairs of the Himalayan Kingdom.
As a friendly neighbour of Nepal, China has closely followed the developments in Nepal, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang told sources when asked to comment on the crisis in the Kingdom.
China pursues the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries, he said adding China believes the Nepalese government and people have the wisdom and ability to solve their own problems.
When asked whether China would send a diplomatic envoy to Kathmandu like India did, Qing said that international community should allow Nepal to solve its own problem and provide a conducive atmosphere for the resolution of the crisis.
