New Delhi: Shell-shocked BJP leaders, including former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, were in constant touch with senior leader Pramod Mahajan's family and party leaders in Mumbai after he was allegedly shot at by a close relative this morning.

Party President Rajnath Singh, who is in Lakhimpur in Uttar Pradesh as part of his ongoing Bharat Suraksha Yatra has expressed serious concern over the development and is rushing to Mumbai, party sources said.

BJP Deputy leader in Lok Sabha Vijay Kumar Malhotra said Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha L K Advani is also expected to fly to Mumbai to be with Mahajan, who is undergoing a surgery at the Hinduja hospital following the shootout.

Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Leader of Opposition Rajya Sabha Jaswant Singh and other senior party leaders were also in regular touch with Mahajan's family members, party leaders and personal aides to know the latest condition of the high-profile BJP General Secretary.
