Greeting Girija Prasad Koirala for being proposed for Nepal's premiership, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee today (Apr 25, 2006) expressed hope that under his experienced leadership the country will be able to achieve lasting peace and stability.
"Nepal is at crossroads. It has to take a fundamental shift from its past, and at the same time, maintain a sense of continuity. I hope that under your wise and experienced
leadership, Nepal will be able to achieve lasting peace and stability for a prosperous future," he said in a letter to Koirala.
Extending congratulations and greetings for the victory in the long-drawn struggle, Vajpayee said, "In this mission for building a new Nepal, you will have a historical role to play.
"As always, we in India, shall stand by our Nepalese brothers and sisters, guided by our long shared history, culture and economic relations," he said.
