Phoolan Devi murder case accused arrested in Kolkata

New Delhi: The main accused in the Phoolan Devi murder case, Sher Singh Rana, was arrested in Kolkata, two years after he escaped from high-security Tihar Jail in the national capital, police sources said here today (Apr 25, 2006).

Rana was arrested in Kolkata last night and was being brought to Delhi where he would be produced in a court, the sources said.

Bandit-turned-politician Phoolan Devi was killed outside her residence here in July, 2001.
