UP: Campaigning picks up for Raebareli bypoll

Raebareli: Electioneering yesterday (Apr 25, 2006) picked up for May eight Raebareli Lok Sabha bypoll with leaders of different political parties hitting the campaign trail to woo voters.

Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharti addressed election meetings in Amawan area urging the electorate to vote for her protege and Apna Dal candidate Prabha Singh.

BJP candidate Vinay Katiyar also addressed public meetings at Dalman.

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, in-charge of her mother Sonia Gandhi's election campaign, visited Rahi, Deen Shah and Dalmau Development areas.

Talking to reporters at Amawan, Bharti alleged the constiteuncy lagged behind in every field.
