J&K: CM Ghulam Nabi Azad wins Bhaderwah seat

Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad was leading by a margin of over 30,000 votes over his BJP rival Kaushal Kotwal in Bhaderwah Assembly constituency of the state, the Election Commission officials said here.

At the end of the fourth round of counting today (Apr 27, 2006), Azad polled 33,026 votes while Kotwal got 2,422 out of 35,448 votes counted, they said.

The by-elections to Pattan, Sangrama, Rafiabad and Bhaderwah constituencies of the state were held on April 24 and over 60 per cent voters had exercised their franchise.
