Washington:
US President George W Bush has said the international community was 'united and concerned' about Iran's 'desire' to have nuclear weapons and Washington will explore all diplomatic options to remind everyone that the Tehran's 'intransigence' was not acceptable.
The US President's response came soon after the International Atomic Energy Agency said Iran has failed to halt uranium enrichment.
"It reminds the Iranians that the world is united and concerned about their desire to have not only a nuclear weapon, but the capacity to make a nuclear weapon or the knowledge to make a nuclear weapon; all of which we're working hard to convince them not to try to achieve," Bush told reporters yesterday.
Bush said the world now have their goal in mind and the US were working on the tactics to tackle Iran.
"The IAEA report should remind us all that the Iranian government's intransigence is not acceptable," he said.
Terming the IAEA report an 'important' statement, the US President said, "It reminds the nations of the world that there is an ongoing diplomatic effort to convince the Iranians
to give up their nuclear weapons ambitions."
Asked whether the diplomatic options was now over, Bush said diplomacy was just beginning and there was the agreed goal that Teheran should not have the capacity to make a nuclear weapon.
"I think the diplomatic options are just beginning. And as you might recall, about six or seven months ago you were asking me questions about the UN Security Council, vis-à-vis Iran, and now we're headed to the UNSC," Bush said.
