Dabhol project to gain full capacity soon: Deshmukh
Monday, May 1 2006 12:01 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Mumbai: "The Dabhol power project, which resumed generation from today, would gain its full capacity within eight to ten days," Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh said.

"There was no shortage of Naphtha but after being shut down for a long period, the plant would take some time to run in its full capacity," Deshmukh told reporters at Hinduja Hospital here today (May 1, 2006), when he came to visit BJP leader Pramod Mahajan, who has been admitted to the hospital after being shot at by his brother Pravin ten days ago.

The Dabhol power plant, which has been re-christened as 'Ratnagiri Gas and Power Private Limited', has started generation after remaining shut for over five years following a power tariff dispute between its promoter Enron Corporation and sole customer, the Maharashtra state power utility.
