SC vacates order on 10 pc quota for ST in medical

New Delhi: The Supreme Court today (May 5, 2006) vacated its interim order providing for ten per cent reservation to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in the all India quota for postgraduate medical courses.

A bench headed by Justice K G Balakrishnan passed the order after the Centre gave an undertaking that from next year it will make a provision for granting reservation to SC/ST candidates in the all India quota.
