Karunanidhi stakes claim to form Government in TN

Chennai: DMK President M Karunanidhi today (May 12, 2006) staked his claim for forming a government in Tamil Nadu.

Karunanidhi called on Tamil Nadu Governor S S Barnala at the Raj Bhavan here and staked his claim.

He is understood to have given letters of support from the Congress, PMK and Left parties, offering unconditional support to his party in forming a ministry.

He had also informed the Governor that he had been elected as the leader of the DMK legislature party, Raj Bhavan sources said.
