Achuthanandan to stake claim to form Kerala Govt

Thiruvananthapuram: CPI (M) leader V S Achuthanandan will stake claim to form a Government in Kerala tomorrow (May 17, 2006).

Achuthanandan today (May 16, 2006) called on Governor R L Bhatia to inform him of the plan to have the swearing-in ceremony at theCentral Stadium here on Thursday.

After meeting the Governor, Achuthanandan told reportersthat he would be meeting Bhatia again tomorrow to officially stake claim after the LDF Liaison Committee meeting.

He was accompanied by former speaker M Vijayakumar.

Achuthanandan was yesterday elected unanimously for chief ministership by the CPI-M state committee.
