New Delhi: Socialite and one of the key witnesses in the Jessica Lall murder case Malini Ramani today (May 16, 2006) moved a fresh application before the Delhi High Court seeking permission to travel abroad.

A Division Bench of Justice M K Sharma and Justice Reva Khetrapal, before whom the application was mentioned in the form of an urgent matter by senior counsel Rajeev Nayar, posted it for further hearing before the acting Chief Justice in the afternoon.

Nayar complained that the decision to prevent his client from leaving the country on the basis of lookout notices was arbitrary and illegal, as both Malini and her mother Bina Ramani had left the country more than 15 times during the trial proceedings.

Justice Vikramjit Sen had yesterday dismissed Malini's application to travel to England for attending an exhibition, as the appeal proceedings in the Jessica Lall murder case had already commenced.
