The Embassy of India in Kabul is in close touch with the Afghanistan government on the issue of ensuring security of Indians working in that country, Rajya Sabha was informed today (May 18, 2006).
Additional security personnel have been deployed at the Border Road Organisations's road project locations, Minister of State for External Affairs E Ahamed said in a written
reply.
He said all Indians working in Afghanistan are urged to register themselves with the Embassy of Kabul, he said adding there were about 2000 Indian nationals working in that
country.
In reply to a query, the Minister said there is no rating of missions and the performance of Indian missions abroad is appraised by the External Affairs Ministry on a continuous
basis.
Hindus in Sind: There are reports of Pakistan's Hindu citizens in areas of Sindh living in conditions of economic insecurity and hardships, the Minister said.
