CBSE announces Class XII examinations results

New Delhi: The results of the Class XII examinations conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) were declared today ( May 23, 2006).

The results for all the regions, including Delhi, Ajmer, Chennai, Guwahati, Panchkula and Allahabad, were announced together.

A total of 4,54,045 students2,63,286 boys and 1,90,759 girlshad appeared for the Class XII examinations, registering a 7.04 per cent rise from last year's 4,21,463 candidates.

Nearly 6,500 overseas students also appeared for the examinations in 81 centres in 19 foreign countries, including the Middle-East, recording an increase of 7.14 per cent.

The Class XII examinations were conducted by the Board in hundreds of centres across the country as well as overseas in March.

The results are published at the respective schools and can also be accessed through SMS on mobile phones, Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) on phone as well as on the Internet, the CBSE said.

Students can also log on to the websites www.results.nic.in and www.cbseresults.nic.into review results

The CBSE also launched a helpline to provide the students with post-result counselling. It will be functional till June six.

The CBSE helpline will also operational in Dubai, Kuwait and Doha in Qatar.

The tele-counselling will be through IVRS, which will be available on the ten-digit number 1250-111-102 on the MTNL netrowk in Delhi and Mumbai and the seven-digit number 1250-1-02.
